The Basics of Digital Printmaking
The first step in making a great print is taking a great photo. This workshop starts in-camera, moving through color management, image processing and printing workflow to teach you how to make stunning color and black & white prints. You’ll start by learning about file-types, resolution, preferable camera settings, and the importance of color management to give yourself best raw material to work with when you’re printing. You’ll learn about calibrating your monitor for a more accurate view of your images, and how to install profiles for the paper you want.
You’ll import and organize your media in Adobe Lightroom, correct your images, then export to Photoshop. In Photoshop, you’ll learn how to customize your workspace and soft-proof for print, plus a few tricks to enhance and sharpen your images better than working in Lightroom alone.
You’ll learn what makes a successful print, and how to properly print from Lightroom, Photoshop & Mirage. This workshops combines demonstration, discussion and hands-on practice.
